Meet the Crew
Four Rowers, One Shared Ocean
Although we come from different backgrounds; a climate researcher, a dive instructor, an expedition guide, and a community fitness leader/ rowing coach, we've each experienced the profound impact that time on the water can have on a person's life.
For some of us, that connection has grown through science, diving, sailing, and conservation. For others, it has grown through the transformative sport of rowing and the communities it creates.

Tim Linsell
Tim is a climate researcher on the Pacific Island of Palau. Prior to his research work, he served as a skipper, diver, and expedition leader—circumnavigating the globe under sail and guiding High Arctic voyages. Tim rows to bridge environmental research with real-world conservation action.

Cady Hart
Cady is a community builder and strength trainer based in central Vermont. Drawing on years of competitive experience and coaching athletes to peak performance, Cady brings power and mental fortitude to the boat. She is passionate about helping people discover they are capable of far more than they think.

Dave Thornley
Dave brings extensive expedition experience in harsh environments, including leading sailing and skiing expeditions in the High Arctic and cycling across Eurasia. Having spent a decade teaching outdoor education, Dave focuses on team cohesion, risk management, and endurance.

Adison Rice
A freediver and scuba instructor, Adison is as comfortable beneath the ocean’s surface as on top of it. On land, he is an accomplished ultra-runner and Arctic nature guide. Driven by the visible climate changes in his Arctic home, Adi rows to call attention to fragile marine ecosystems.

Life Aboard a 28-Foot Ocean Boat
The Vessel & Preparation
Our 28-foot ocean rowing boat serves as our life-support system, living quarters, and workspace for nearly two months. Operating on a continuous schedule of 2 hours rowing and 2 hours resting around the clock, we navigate ocean swells without an engine or sail. Every drop of fresh water is produced via solar-powered desalinators, and all food supplies are carried from start to finish.
